About
Hello!
I’m Sarah. I am a certified pediatric sleep consultant through the Centre for Pediatric Sleep Management (CPSM) and former Registered Nurse (RN) of 8 years. I am a mom of 3 lovely kiddos who resides in beautiful British Columbia, Canada with my husband Justin. I'm happy you're here!
My Story
I discovered my passion for all things baby sleep when my oldest was a newborn. I still remember trying to get her down for bed one evening. No amount of rocking, bouncing or nursing was doing the trick. It would take hours, only for her to wake up shortly after. Naps were the same. She was overtired and overstimulated. I was exhausted and frustrated. I remember the screaming and crying (from the both of us) and feeling myself start to spiral. It was a dark feeling.
I put her down and left the room. I didn’t know what else to do. I was shocked to discover her soundly sleeping when I returned only a few minutes later. She had put herself to sleep! I couldn’t believe it. I realized she needed the space and opportunity to try. She quickly became a great sleeper. I began researching all I could about infant sleep and as my next two children came along, I committed to implementing healthy sleep habits early on. My boys also quickly became great sleepers.
I have spent the last number of years informally supporting other families as they navigate their children’s sleep struggles. In early 2023, I decided to leave my nursing career and become certified in pediatric sleep consulting.
Before Dawn Pediatric Sleep Consulting Inc. was created. The quote “the night is always the darkest before the dawn” serves as the inspiration behind Before Dawn.
When things are at their hardest and it seems as if there is no solution, there is hope.
I believe that a rested family is a thriving family and that our children (and us) are capable of doing hard things. I also believe that parents know their children best and I am committed to guiding them in a way that feels safe and comfortable for them. It is a privilege to come alongside families and support them through the sleep training process.
If you’re ready to make a change but unsure of what’s next, please reach out.
